As Dashing Films counts down to the release of its web series Chess on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, members of the production crew continue to share their experiences from behind the scenes. Uchenna Ibe, who worked as a Production Assistant on the project, offers a brief look into his role and what it took to support the production.
Uchenna explains that as a Production Assistant, his responsibility was to support different aspects of the production process wherever needed. The role required flexibility and constant movement, assisting various departments to ensure that activities on set ran smoothly.
The Challenges of the Role
Speaking on the challenges he faced during the production, he describes the experience in one word: stress. According to him, the demands of working on set required energy, focus, and endurance, especially in keeping up with the pace of activities across departments.
The Strength of the Team
Despite this, he points to the strength of the team as a key factor in the production. He notes that the commitment and active involvement of crew members across different units helped maintain structure and progress throughout filming. In his view, the level of cooperation on set contributed to the overall outcome of the series.
Looking ahead to the release, Uchenna says audiences should expect a story that is engaging and worth watching. He encourages viewers to experience the series directly, noting that the storytelling and performances offer something that goes beyond second-hand opinions. He also adds that feedback from audiences will play a role in helping the team improve future projects, as different departments continue to refine their work.
